All About Kamden

Just last month Kamden turned eight years old! He had been looking forward to this day for a long time....and all he could think about was Legos. Here is my atempt at a Lego cake. I had two unmentioned people walk in and ask what it was....hmmm, thanks a lot you too! Kamden was more than pleased.
Here is the other two kiddos trying to steal some of his spotlight!

We let Kam choose where he wanted to eat for dinner. He chose the Outback and brought along his friend Isaac. These two are quite a pair. Kamden ordered his own steak and ate the entire thing...takes after his dad.

The night after his birthday Kamden was made a cubscout. He is holding his spirit water. It glowed...I guess I know have a lot of years of scouting ahead of me.

A week ago Kamden got baptized. This picture was taken right before we left for the church. Oh he was so nervous....

What a good looking crew....and not to mention the loves of my life!

Here they are...ready to go! And he did it, he really did it! It took him a year to get here, but he did it!.

And Kamden went on his first real hunting trip. This looks so cold which is not fun, but he had a great time!

October

We have had such a fun October! Jamie and her kids came in town for a weekend. This is all the kids at the Treehouse.
Here we are with Grandma at a pumpkin patch.

Carving Pumpkins...not my favorite tradition, but the kids love it.

We all went trick or treating at the Veterens Nursing Home. I think we brought home more candy from there than we did our neighborhood.

Wyatt the pirate

Ariel

Indiana Jones

I made sure Tad dressed up, although I am not sure what you would call his costume, but he was a good sport.

On a Typical Day

On our drive home from school yesterday our conversation went something like this:

Cori: You know what all the girls in my class told me today?

Me: What girls?

Cori: All the girls, Olivia, Klair, Lexi (and proceeds to name every girl in her class.) Uh, they told me that Cooper has a crack on me.

I think she meant crush. I have laughed about this all night. Oh she has a lot to learn....

Her Tent

I just had to post these pictures. Cori loves to be making something ALL THE TIME. Usually it is some kind of paper creation, note, collage of beads, pipe cleaners, stickers, play dough, well you get the picture. As a mom, I have to hold my "I hate messes all over my kitchen table, bedroom, family room" attitude and let her be her creative self. Instead of gluing random things together this time, it was a tent in her bed. She got out every blanket she has over owned from birth on and tied them to her bed posts.
It sure is all cute when she is sleeping!!

A Sick Day?

This is what my house looks like after just one day of being sick.
That is right...I came down with the stomach flu early Sunday morning.
And I am telling you surgery and the flu do not mix well.
And today, although I am feeling better I am just going to look at the mess.
No cleaning today.
I am just going to look at the mixed puzzles and games, and maybe, just maybe I will feel like cleaning them up tomorrow.

Summer's Top Ten List

Here is our top ten list (in no particular order) for summer:
1. Almost every Thursday throughout the summer, we met up with a lot of my cousins at different parks. Sometimes far like the Gateway and sometimes right in our own back yard. It was quite nice that sometimes I just had Wyatt and sometimes I had all three. (That darn year round school throws our summers off a bit.)

2. It was quite monumental that we made it on a drive to California and back without much to speak of. I think we have hit a growing up point. The biggest problem we had was pulling over quickly to go to the bathroom.

(We were this close to the wild animals.)
3. A lot of time spent with these two. I would like to think we take care of Grandma Great, but I think she takes care of us too.
4. The past three weeks I have spent a lot of time doing this (below). That darn tumor from two years ago came back to haunt me. Luckily, I am feeling good and like I want to be back to my normal self. In fact, today was my first day without a babysitter helping me out, and it felt good. Although, I have to say it has been so nice of everyone helping me out. You will all never know what that means to me and especially Tad!!

5. For my birthday tad got me tickets to My fav concert!! Log and Deb came too. It was so good...too short. I love Josh Turner even more than I did before!

6. We spent countless days at Lagoon! My mom gave us season tickets for Christmas last year. I never dared take my camera for fear of losing it. All three of my kids loved every second! They are all so brave! In fact, there were many times Wyatt was in tears throwing quite a fit because he was not tall enough to ride the big rides!

7. Boondocks! So fun! Thanks Grandma Connie! It was so fun for everyone, even me who just watched! They have been talking about it ever since.

8. Attempted family pictures. The kids look great...I on the other hand had the flu and thought that I could fake it. I don't think it worked. Needless to say, they are not on the wall.

9. Spent a weekend in Bear Lake with the Lloyd's. So fun and relaxing.

10. And last but definitely not least, this boy below is potty trained. He decided the week before California was a good time, witch left me a wreck, but he proved to be such a big kid. And after seven and half years of buying diapers we are now done forever! Yahoooo!

July is Over..And We've Been Busy

With little time off school, we made the most if it.... with a little of this... (called California)
And a lot of these cousins....

A little history in the mix....

A lot of silly kids....

A little bit sick at Sea World... (not to be confused with sick of Sea World, it was so fun)

A few roaring animals at Wild Animal Park...

A good time at the padres game....

And then that fun ended and a new fun started....(first day of kindergarten)

And a big second grader....

And a lot of school ahead of us!!

A Toothpick?

Saturday evening we hurried home from the grocery store, ready to cozy up to a good movie with the kids. While Kamden showered, Cori ran through the sprinklers, and Wyatt was getting ready to take a bath. Kamden hopped out of the shower and ran to ask me something as I was sitting at the dinner table.
Little did we know someone (it's always that Mr. nobody) dropped, and left a toothpick in the carpet. Kamden ran full speed towards me and managed to jump onto this toothpick. I was watching this whole thing happen and within about a seconds time, he panicked, grabbed the toothpick and broke it off leaving half the toothpick in his foot.
Well, through a lot of screaming, panicking, crying, and yelling we ended up in the ER. After two hours of waiting, and three shots in the foot a podiatrist finally pulled out over an inch of green toothpick. I am not sure how it didn't go through the other side of his foot. It was huge.
Kam got to miss church on Sunday, but went back to school yesterday with a stitched up foot. Luckily he can walk just fine and when he wants he can even run on it. I wish I would have gotten pictures to show, but that didn't cross my mind when we were running out the door.
So that was our crazy weekend that turned out to be more of an adventure than a relaxer.

The Funniest School Day

This was the funniest activity I have ever seen a class do. Kams class earned a party and this is what they voted...a food fight. Here is the before shot.

These poor little girls had no idea what was coming. Although, I was volunteering earlier in the day, and I bet I heard twenty kids ask if it was time for the food fight yet.
This was just the beginning...

Look at that pudding and whipped cream.

I haven't laughed this hard in a really long time. And behold the after pictures. Now looking at this picture, it looks like Kamden got the worst of it. He either doesn't run so fast, or he was asking for it. Either way, he was laughing the whole time.

That is Kamden's teacher sitting in the middle...what a great and fun teacher she has been.

We're Back...

Oh so much has happened lately. I guess that is where I have been, a little bit of everywhere. So, here is my attempt at a catch up. Wyatt turned three! He knew he wanted to have his party at Chuck E Cheese.
This boy is all sports...which was every present he recieved.

He spent every minute at the basketball shoot. Oh he was so happy all night. He loves the attention!

And he loves his dad that is for sure!!

Kamden had his first grade program and it was perfect for him...all about dinosaurs. His teacher, Mrs Thomas was amazing and was playing the piano, while singing, while leading the music.

He practiced for many months and notice their cute shirts they painted. The day after the program Kam got to jump a plane to New Mexico to visit cousins. I need to get these pictures, but he had the time of his life. Thanks Jamie and kids for being so great to Kam. I think he would come every month if he could.

We had a few birthdays in May. Tad and I share a birthday although he is a couple, uh um, years older than I am (and I don't let him forget that). The kids were so excited they made my cake for me while I was gone one night. And I am afraid those numbers on the cake are not a lie.

Cori graduated from preschool this year. She loves to learn and was so excited to go to school everyday. We absolutely loved Miss Amber and are so sad she doesn't get to go there.

What a sweet girl...and she knew her part perfectly.

Cori also has been taking clogging lessons. It was such a cute performance.

Isn't she beautiful?!

I know, a picture overload, and I am afraid there is even more to come.
