Happy Birthday 5 Year Old

We celebrated Cori's birthday this past week!! She is now five years old, which sure sounds a lot older than four. Five is no longer a toddler, she is now so grown up and just waiting for kindergarten. All she wanted for her birthday was a party and a Little Mermaid dress-up. So here she is as Ariel right before her princess party.
Of course we had dainty, little cupcakes for a birthday cake. Tad and I got to take Cori out to dinner just the three of us that night. It was so fun to have her alone. Although when we were out, she insisted that she wanted ribs to eat. I kept telling her that she might not like to eat meat off of bones, but she could have whatever she wanted. Needless to say, she only had fries and dessert for dinner.

A new swimming suit.

I know some of you might recognize the princess that came to the party! It's okay Cori recognized her too, but no one else did.

Princesses have to walk, eat, talk, and drink feminine.

This was much calmer than our Jedi party we had in the fall. Such cute princesses!

The day before Cori's birthday, I got to go to her school to talk about her and read her favorite stories to her class.

Jamie and her kids were in town a few days before Cori's birthday so we had another party with her favorite cousins. Here is Cori and Oliver.

When I was younger I knew that I always wanted to be a mom. I couldn't even think of what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wanted to be a mom. But, when I pictured motherhood, I always thought I would have all boys. I was completely shocked when i had a girl. I am so happy and grateful to be Cori's mom. She and I love to paint fingernails, go shopping, eat brownies, play barbies, and cuddle with dolls. I am so happy we are best friends, and that Heavenly Father knew that this house needed a girl. happy Birthday Miss Cori!

Cute idea, Liza. I can't believe that her and Adi are already going to be going to Kindergarten. Where has the time gone? McCall looked just like a real princess, I bet the girls thought that was pretty cool. Happy Birthday Cori!!

What a beautiful princess birthday girl! she seriously is so cute! Oh, and I forgot to tell you what Libby told us about the party...when rich got home from work, I told her to tell him who came to the party, and she said "I went to Cori's birthday party and a big humongous princess in a blue dress came!" No, McCall, you are not "humongous", but I guess for a little girl that's never seen a life sized princess before...anyway, we thought it was pretty cute, and she had a great time! Can't believe she is 5!
